The Stockhouse Community is about respectful and thoughtful discussion between members that want to gain insights and information that can help direct their investment decisions. This goal can’t be achieved if people are feeling like their opinions and thoughts aren’t respected and are instead targeted by other members for derision.
Bullying is the act of targeting a member for the purpose of insulting, humiliating, harassing or attacking them in order to push their comments and thoughts 'down’. We want you to respond and react to the discussion that you disagree with, but we want you to do it respectfully, focusing on the substance of the topic and not the person. If you find yourself focused on the member writing posts, you will likely be bullying that member.
Our Community Specialists will do their best to find the balance between normalized social interactions and stepping over the line into bullying. We may not get it right all the time; however, we will err on protecting the integrity of the discussion and ensuring that all members feel comfortable participating in this Community.
Stockhouse membership allows you to ‘ignore’ other members. This feature will remove their post content from your view and not allow those members to send you private messages. If you are the target of bullying, we encourage you to first report the abuse to us so we can review it, and then you should ‘ignore’ that member, so you do not have to deal with their harassment.
Guidelines
- Do not target another member with name-calling, insults or harassment.
- Do not impersonate or mock the content posted by another member. Avoid insulting language against a member and instead focus on responding to the post's content.
