Our goal at Stockhouse is to provide members with a safe and inclusive platform that allows them to share facts, opinions, and sentiment about publicly traded companies and their products and services. We wish to make it easy for investors to share and gather information that may be useful in their investment decisions. To do this we need to ensure that all members are behaving in an ethical, legal, and socially acceptable manner when participating in discussions on our Bullboards.
Every member of Stockhouse agrees to abide by our Community Policies when they open their account. The use of the site, as a member, is contingent on complying with the Community Policies whenever content is entered on Bullboards or a comment is added to other content areas of the site.
The following is a non-exclusive list of the Community Policies that all members agree to abide by.
SPAM
The same content from a user that is posted across multiple Bullboards without providing legitimate context as to why it is relevant to the Bullboard it is being posted to. Be thoughtful and ensure the content belongs on the Bullboard that is posted on.

Advertising
Content that is perceived to be commercial or promotional in nature that may or may not direct users off site. Don’t promote your business, services, or goods on Stockhouse. If you want to advertise on Stockhouse or get your message out to our Community then contact our sales team.

Defamatory Statements
Defamation has a legal standard in both the U.S. and Canada. While defining defamation is a bit of a grey area, you need to be aware that your comments about an identifiable company, a person, or an institution can be held against you if those comments are perceived to injure or damage their reputation. Nobody is truly anonymous on the internet so choose your words wisely to avoid legal entanglement.
If requested by law enforcement we will share any information we have about you to the appropriate authorities.

Profanity/Vulgarity
We reserve the right to remove any profanity or vulgarity made on site by members. Try to keep your conversation polite and respectful so that your points can be made without inflaming emotions. Obscured profanity (e.g, s@#t) where variants of a word or phrase are also not permitted. Don’t type it here if you wouldn’t say it to someone standing in front of you.

Physical Threats
Physical threats to members or the public in general will not be tolerated. There’s no reason to take your discussion there and it could put you in legal jeopardy if you do.
If requested by law enforcement we will share any information we have about you to the appropriate authorities.

Bullying
Bullying is considered to be the persistent and repeated abuse of one member by another. We’re a social media platform so some banter should be expected between members, however, continued and repeated targeting will not be tolerated. Everyone, at some point, may have something valuable to say and if you shut them down, you may be robbing yourself of useful insight. If you disagree, do so with some respect.

Invasion of Privacy
Don't out members. Don't share the private information of company executives. No phone numbers, no addresses. Be neighbourly.

Violations of the Human Rights Code
A message title or body that attacks or identifies someone on the basis of physical or mental disability, gender, age, unrelated criminal conviction, sexual orientation, family status, race, colour, ancestry, place of origin, political belief, religion, or marital status. We don’t believe there’s any room for this in society so don’t bring it to our site.

Off Topic
Stockhouse is a community focused on sharing thoughts and information about publicly traded companies. Keep your discussion to relevant topics about a company, their management, their sector/subsector, or their products and services. If you stray too far afield your content will be removed.

Copyright Violations
Did you just copy and paste something into a post? You likely just broke copyright law if you did. Do not post the entirety of other people’s works. Quote them and attribute them but do not rip them off.

Multiple Accounts
We’re a fairly open platform allowing investors to share their insights. There’s no good reason to have multiple accounts at Stockhouse other than to circumvent Community Policies or avoid sanctions that those bring. If we suspect or discover you have more than one account we will shut down the duplicates.
